I got this adorable knit winter outfit for Selena from OshKosh B’gosh. It’s going to be perfect for our Christmas trip to New York. Not only is it cute, but it’s also super soft and comfy (as you can see from the photo, Selena isn’t complaining).

Right now is the best time to shop for it because they are having amazing sales! Click here to get this look!

Selena’s Baptism

I am a child of God John 1:12

On November 5th, 2017, Selena Jade was baptized. It was a beautiful day that was celebrated with friends and family.

After the ceremony, we held a dinner at a room we rented out on base. A lot of the decor/dessert table was DIY. Since I love sticking to color schemes, I decided on using shades of silver, pink, & white.

I made the center pieces for the tables. They were super easy to put together and very affordable! The flowers were purchased from Trader Joe’s the day before the party. Luckily, they had just the type of flowers I was looking for. The vase was from the 99 Cents store and was decorated with white ribbon and tulle. To keep the flowers looking fresh, I trimmed them, put them in water (with the nutrient pack they come with) and kept them in the refrigerator overnight.

Chocolate covered pretzels topped with editable glitter powder. Glitter you can eat is the best invention EVER. Warning- It may make you poop glitter (ha, I really have no idea..yet..). The best way to apply the glitter onto the pretzels is using a paint brush (once the chocolate hardens).

For the favors, I gave out homemade rose soaps from Etsy, rosary beads (that also smell like roses), & Jordan almonds.

Let me know what you think of my baptism decor! ❤

My Top 10 Baby Registry Must Haves

1e62267b-b64e-4e8a-bfdf-0518fd7b40d61. Swaddles-
Make a baby burrito and watch them drift into dream land. Swaddles can work wonders if you know how to wrap the baby the right way. Highly recommend Muslin swaddles by SwaddleDesigns because they are large and 100% cotton (meaning your baby won’t overheat, even in California weather).

2. A good diaper bag- For the best way to carry around your baby’s essential items, Ju-Ju-Be diaper bag is my favorite!

3. Wee wee pads- Once in a while your baby WILL pee while you are changing their diaper. It’s inevitable. Wee Wee pads are great because they are disposable, large in size, and protect your changing table from a poop or pee explosion.

4. Butt paste- Boudreaux’s butt paste is God sent! If you see any sign of redness, apply some of the paste to the area and watch it be gone in no time!

5. Thermometer- Not only for checking to see if your baby has a fever , but also great for checking the temperature of your baby’s bathwater.

6. Nail clipper- Babies nails grow so fast! Using a nail clipper specifically for babies makes it super easy to trim their tiny, delicate nails.

7. A swing How to keep your child entertained while you get chores done around the house- put them in a swing. Keep in mind, these should not be used in replace of a crib, as it is not approved for safe sleeping. My daughter loves watching the lights and the mobile.

8. Pack n’ Play- We keep our pack and play at the edge of our bed. Our baby sleeps in it at night and her crib during the day. It makes it easier for us to get to her when we hear her first starting to wake up before she turns into a crying, hangry little monster. You definitely need one of these if you plan on traveling with a baby! It’s easy to fold and comes with a carry bag.

9. Burp rags- I have about 20 of these all over my house, that’s how often I use them. Great for spills, drool, and spit ups.

10. Bottle steamer- Even though they sell electrical steamers, I bought a microwave one (way cheaper and gets the job done). It’s an easy way to disinfect your bottles and pacifiers.

Our Baby Announcement

I can’t believe it’s been almost a year since we found out we were expecting our first baby. I did a lot of research on the web, including Pinterest for ideas on how we could announce the news but I had a difficult time finding something original. Then one day it came to me: since most of our family and friends live across the United States,  we decided that the best way we could announce the news was our Christmas card (and it was a hit!). Plus, Christmas is my favorite holiday..

Here’s how the card came out:

My friend Michelle is an amazing photographer (for more of her work, click  here) and did a wonderful job with helping us reveal our announcement. It was a lot of fun! In case you wondering, I got these super cute, yet cheesy looking pj’s from Target (they have a lot of family pj’s to choose from!).

Finding the Perfect Diaper Bag

For me, picking out a diaper bag was extremely stressful (along with all of the other things I had to pick out for my baby registry). I was having my first child and had NO idea what I needed to buy. I made some mistakes (I’m sure all new parents do); I had a lot of unnecessary items on my list that I ended up not using but I learned my lesson (2nd child- I’m ready for you!). The one item that I’m glad I put on my registry and found most useful was the diaper bag. IMG_1443 (2)

I absolutely love my diaper bag by Ju-Ju-Be!

Not only does it look great, it’s also water proof (a must!), easy to clean, has plenty of room, and comes with a matching changing pad. It’s everything I learned I would need in a diaper bag.

At first I wasn’t going to add it to my registry because, well.. I’m not going to lie, it’s a bit pricey (around $180 bucks). But once the baby was here I soon learned that this bag was going to be my best friend (RIP pocketbooks!). But that’s okay because carrying around a handbag AND a diaper bag is just not possible or necessary if you find the right diaper bag. So if you think about it, it’s like buying a designer handbag except, you are actually putting it to use. It’s going to undergo a lot of wear and tear so remember: quality is important! IMG_1454 (2).jpg

What I love most about this bag is that it’s versatile; you can wear it as a messenger bag or a book bag. The straps are removable, but as you can see from my photos, that’s what the bag looks like if you keep them on. This bag was so worth the price! They sell a lot of other accessories (pacifier holder, smaller storage bags) that match this bag as well.  This diaper bag also comes in a variety of very stylish patterns to choose from- you forget it’s even going to be used to hold stinky diapers.

So if you’re wondering if a Ju-Ju-Be is worth the investment, it definitely is! Stay tuned for my next blog on diaper bag essentials.
